What is Packet Switching?
Packet Switching is a technique used to transfer data into segment called packets via different protocols. This technique is used to send data faster and more efficiently. In this technique data is divided into chunks or segments and each segment is provided with a number and destination address. Routers and network switches, based on destination address information, determine that which route would be faster for the packet to travel. These segments travel over different routing paths according to the routing scheme. On the arrival at destination these chunks are again piled up.
