What is POP3?
POP3 is the 3rd version of Post Office Protocol, a standard mail protocol for receiving mails. It allows to receive mails from remote server to local machine. Mail application is required to be configured with protocol in computer, then it can be checked on the computer easily. POP3 works exactly like post office; mails are stored in the server until user download his mail. Once user download the mail, POP server automatically deletes it from server. However, only one computer can be used to check mail through this protocol.
